The National Association of Cider Makers is the trade association representing cider makers across the UK. Established in 1920, the membership represents around 87% of the UK cider market and utilises apples from more than 18,000 acres of cider apple orchards grown for the industry. We are currently recruiting for a newly created role, due to the retirement of two of our associates. The role will focus on supporting the technical and pomology agenda of the association, reporting to the CEO and working closely with member companies, through the Technical Committee and Pomology Committee.

Building a network of stakeholders and representing the cider industry in discussions with DEFRA, Food Standards Agency, Trading Standards and other agencies that influence the legislative agenda for the cider industry in the UK, the right person will be able to contribute to consultations and working groups on all aspects of growing cider apples and making cider. They will have strong communication skills, be able to brief all sizes of cider maker and apple grower on legislative changes and other potential impacts to cider making and apple growing.

The right person will be educated to degree level, have cider industry experience or relevant experience gained from a similar category. Regular travel to London, South West and West Midlands will be essential as well as an ability to work remotely as part of a small, enthusiastic team, who are passionate about cider and determined to ensure that there is a sustainable platform for cider makers to operate in for the long term.
