Orchard Pig wins silver in first international cider challenge

West Bradley based cidermaker Orchard Pig has been awarded a Silver in the first International Cider Challenge, run by Drinks International magazine.

The competition attracted over a hundred entries globally but only five Golds and seven Silvers were awarded.

Drinks International recruited a panel of distinguished and knowledgeable judges who blind tasted each entry. Chairman of the judges Christian Davis said: 'We had cider from all over the world, including the Czech Republic, US, South Africa and Canada.'

Andrew Quinlan from  Orchard Pig,who are based near Glastonbury in Somerset said:'We are absolutely delighted to win this award, especially against such strong international competition.  The judging panel consisted of very respected names in the industry and we are thrilled to have been recognised for the quality of our cider.  We look forward to taking part in the competition again next year.'
