New packaging highlights Merrydown’s International Cider Awards
January 31 2011From February (2011) Merrydown Cider bottles will be sporting new neck labels featuring medals awarded to both the Medium and Dry variants in the first ever International Cider Challenge (ICC), and the award wins are also being prominently highlighted on new case designs being introduced at the same time.
Merrydown Medium picked up the accolade of being the Trophy Medal for the competition and will be proudly displaying the 2010 ICC Gold Medal Award as the top cider in the Medium Cider category. Merrydown Dry bottles and cases will feature the Bronze Medal it achieved in the Dry Cider Category.
Chris Carr, Merrydown Cider’s Managing Director, says: “Merrydown beat off competition from around the world to scoop the trio of awards at the prestigious International Cider Challenge.
“The ICC attracted over 100 entries from around the globe including France, Belgium and the Czech Republic so it’s a fantastic achievement and endorsement for Merrydown.”
Merrydown’s ICC medal awards are also being highlighted on the brand’s website which has an expanded section devoted to Merrydown & Food to provide inspirational serving suggestions for seasonal recipes that go well with cider and/or use cider as an ingredient.
Pork & Merrydown Cider Hotpot, Cranberry & Merrydown Cider Duck and Bangers Braised in Merrydown Cider are among the Winter Season recipes currently highlighted on the site, which also regularly runs competitions to win related prizes – the latest was a 3 in 1 Flavour Savour cooking pot, perfect for winter stews and casseroles.
