A great day out promised at Cider Museum

October 01 2010

If you are in the Hereford area on October 16th and 17th there is an event taking place that you don't want to miss.

The annual Cidermaking Festival is taking place once again at the Cider Museum in Ryelands Street, Hereford, when there is a feast of activities that will appeal to cider and apple lovers, as well as those with an interest in rural affairs.

The highlights of the Festival will be demonstrations of traditional cidermaking, coopering and blacksmithying.

Of special interest is likely to be the Tutored Cider Tastings when you can learn how to detect the constituents of cider from Master Cidermakers on both days and how to recognise the different aromas and characteristics of the many ciders on offer. There will also be samples of cider and cider brandy to enjoy.

To compliment the event there will be many other activities including beekeeping and fungi exhibitions, apple displays and the popular Museum on the Move featuring an exhibition of Folklore and Fairytales.

Morris Dancers will be in attendance as well as a fairground organ and games and activities for the family.

The Museum will be open from 10am to 5pm.  For further details telephone 01432 354207 or http://www.cidermuseum.co.uk
