Clear as a bell, Caerleon pub is named CAMRA’s Cider and Perry Pub 2011
July 26 2011
The Bell Inn in Caerleon has notched up another award. This time the popular village pub has been named CAMRA’s Cider and Perry Pub 2011 for South and Mid Wales.
This is the second time the pub on Bulmore Road, which is run by landlord Lee Taylor, has taken home this award, having won it in 2008 and having been named Welsh Cider and Perry Pub 2007 and a finalist in the national competition that year.
The Bells offers a variety of ciders from a range of different quality producers, including a rotation of Dog Dancer, Black Dragon and Haymaker on the hand pump from International Cider Producer of the Year, Gwynt y Ddraig. Draught ciders and perries from Raglan Cider Mill and Blaengawney Cider are also currently available.
Commenting on the award, Taylor said: “We are truly delighted to win this award again. It is a great testament to the team working here. “
At any one time The Bell will have 25 different types of still and sparkling cider and perries on offer.
It’s no wonder they received such a high accolade!
